London & Paris - Day 4: From Pounds to Euros

London & Paris - Day 4
From Pounds to Euros

The next morning, we had to get up really early, have a quick bite to eat, gather our bags, and head to the bus. We were all heading to Paris that day. First, we headed to Port of Dover, and left at around 8 am. The journey was long. I was still tired so I dosed off. When I woke up, we were about halfway to Dover. I plugged in my earphones, played some music and read my book (Book of Choice: J'adore New York by Isabelle Laflèche).

We arrived at the Port of Dover and had to go through customs. After that, we headed toward the right ferry dock. We stepped off the bus to get some air, and we found out who were going to be our roommates for our stay in Paris. My roommate was a very nice girl from Toronto, Dory. We got along very well and had a lot of fun. A few minutes later, it was time to get on the bus, and head onto the boat. After we found our place to park, we had to wait on the bus until it was safe to get off. When it was safe, we got off and headed off to explore what the boat had to offer. I headed to the cafeteria because I was so hungry. I had some Fish and Chips with a tomato soup on the side. The food was great. After eating, I headed toward the Duty-Free shop. I bought a nice purse for my sister, a bottle of a Chanel fragrance called CHANCE Eau Fraiche and a snack for the road. I wandered around the deck after my little shopping spree, and bumped into some friends from the tour and we decided to take the view from outside. The view was amazing! You could see the illusion of the sky and the sea being an infinity. I also had the chance to get to know more about my new friends. Soon enough, time went by so fast, that it was time to get back on the bus because the boat was heading in to port in Calais, France.

When we got on the bus, we waited for our turn to get off the boat. Soon after, we were on the road to Paris. The long journey included listening to fun fact from Bri (our Tour Manager). The excitement grew in me hour by hour. It was exciting to go the City of Lights, Love and Fashion, my dream since I was a young girl.

We arrived in Paris, at our hotel, when it was about supper time. We checked into our rooms, got ready for supper. We had a delicious supper, and after we ate; we headed to down to the underground parking lot to get on the bus. We were going to take a city tour and visit the Eiffel Tour. We saw the Arc de Tiomphe, L'académie de la musique which is the former Maison d'Opéra, the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre and we finally got to the magnificent Eiffel Tower! We took pictures, and headed in the elevator that took the second tier of the Eiffel Tower. It was very high up, and high enough for me because I am afraid of heights. So, it is unfortunate I didn't go to the top, the next time I go to Paris, I hope to be as brave to go to the top. The experience is incredible. After, we waited for the rest of the crew, and ate a midnight snack (stuffed crepes). We headed back to our hotel, by the metro: from Trocadéro to Bronchant in Monmartre.

This is where I leave you. That day was memorable! I will post Day 5 next week. Hope you  enjoyed reading it!

This book is an amazing mix of fashion, crime and love. I've read more than few times over the last few years. The character for Catherine is an amazing portrayal of a French woman's journey in America as a corporate lawyer. The story is really inspiring, showing that there are a lot of hard decisions to make in life, work and especially in love. It's the perfect book for women who have love of fashion and crime/law.
