London & Paris
Day 1- Departure
I was ready to go! All packed, all documents in order and my flights and my hotels were confirmed. I was ready to go on my first trip abroad to the wonderful cities of London, UK and Paris, France. It has been my dream since I was a little girl to go to Europe. I will be summarizing what happened on the day that I left for my incredible journey.
It was 5 pm at the Montreal Airport when I arrived to check in for my flight. I went to give my big suitcase to get it checked an sent off to its luggage cabin. I said goodbye to my family and headed off. After that, I went through security, and claimed that belongings before heading off to find my terminal. I was nervous and excited all at the same time. I finally found my terminal, and luckily there was small store where I found some nourishment. I had brought some books to keep me busy and my earphones to listen to my music, while waiting for boarding to begin. Two hours later at around 8pm. They started to call our flight. We went in order of priority. Finally it was my turn to hand my ticket and passport over and I headed toward the entrance for the plane. I found my seat, put my small carry on in the overhead compartment, turned off my cellphone and settled in. We listened to the flight attendant while she gave us the safety procedures. Then, we were off. I watched an assortment of television episodes and movies while on the flight, dosed off for a bit. I was awoken by the big sunrise over scenic Ireland, had breakfast and two hours later we landed at London Heathrow Airport. I made my way towards Customs waited for almost 2 hours, went to baggage claim found my suitcase. Then, I had go and find the Underground (the subway) and get on the Piccadilly Line towards Russell Square, which is a 40 to 50 minute Underground ride.
I had finally arrived at Russell Square and found my hotel. I gave my baggage to the Porter; since I couldn't check in immediately; and headed off to do some exploring. I came back at the hotel at around 2 pm UK time to check in. I settled in my room. Took a nap and woke up so that I could get ready for orientation. I headed downstairs to find my group and couldn't find them and it took me around 30 minutes to find them. I joined them, listened to all that my tour manager and driver had to say. After, I met a few good friends, we went the adjoining dining room, had a traditional English Dinner and talked a lot. After dinner, we had the choice doing a pub crawl in Leichester or call it a night. I called it night on account me being completely jet lagged.
