My Summer Favorites 2014

My Summer Favorites 2014

In this blog post, I will be talking about my favorite things from this summer. From great books to good eats and much more. I will talk about some of my favorite books, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), food, and beauty items.

Books

J'adore New York! by: Isabelle Laflèche. This book is an amazing mix of fashion, crime and love. I've read more than few times over the last few years. The character for Catherine is an amazing portrayal of a French woman's journey in America as a corporate lawyer. The story is really inspiring, showing that there are a lot of hard decisions to make in life, work and especially in love. It's the perfect book for women who have love of fashion and crime/law.

J'adore Paris! by: Isabelle Laflèche. This book is the sequel to J'adore New York. In this book, Catherine returns to Paris with a new love and a new career. The story says a lot about the fashion industry, from legal point of view. New lessons to learn, new friends to love and new enemies to take down. This is the perfect sequel to read on hot summer days spent at the beach, on a campground or on a patio at your own home.

Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. This book has an amazing story that will make you laugh and cry. The story is about a young woman who happens to be haunted by her great-grand mother that she barely knew. The grand mother's spirit is feisty, funny, and a well-thought character. This is a romantic comedy within a novel. The book is perfect to read on road trips with family or friends, bringing you all closer together.

I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella. From the author who has brought us Confessions of a Shopaholic!, Sophie Kinsella has written a book, that would interest the minds of young women in today's society. The story is about a young woman who has it all figured out, but her life falls apart when she looses her engagement ring during a hotel fire drill. An amazing story about how things don't always go the way they plan. The book is perfect read by the pool or at the beach.

Food & Drinks

There are many types of food and drinks that I enjoy during the Summer time, but there are a few that I can't live without and that I've tried and really loved.

- PC Lemonade Sparkling Soda (light and breezy for those hot and dry days)
- Drumsticks Ice Cream cones (Caramel is my favorite)
- Seagram's Wild Berry Vodka coolers (very refreshing beside a campfire with good company)
- St-Albert's cheese curds (for Poutines or just as a snack)
- Smoked Salmon Sushi Rolls by Bento Sushi (something to keep you cool on hot days)
- Hamburgers or Hotdogs (My ultimate favorite summer foods; perfect for picnics and bbqs)

Beauty

I don't usually use a lot of beauty products during the summertime. Just wearing simple and light makeup and applying sunscreen to my face and body is a good routine for me. I start my days by applying sunscreen to my face (Neutrogena fragrance-free sunscreen SPF 45), and apply a light compressed powder (for sensitive skin) to my face and neck, then go on to a light eyeshadow (Pupa eyeshadow palette for brown eyes), a quick stroke of liquid liner (Annabelle pencil liquid liner) and touch of  mascara (Covergirl Flamed Out mascara). For the times I might forget to apply sunscreen, and get a sunburn I use the Vichy after sun SOS balm.

That is all for my Favorites. I'm terribly sorry I haven't been able to write for a while. But not to worry, I will be back with more next week. Hope you liked this post, make sure to give it a big thumbs up.
