You all know the term ''Spring Cleaning''; and it is about doing a top to bottom cleaning around the house. The same goes for me in my wardrobe. I have a very effective way of cleaning out my wardrobe. In this post, I will be sharing my tips on cleaning out my wardrobe.
Here are my cleaning tips:
1. Empty your Closet and Chest of Drawers
The first thing I do when I clean out my wardrobe is take out all my clothes. I put it all onto my bed plus my Spring and Summer clothes to do a full and extensive cleaning out. I sorted out my clothes by Tops, Bottoms, Intimates and Dresses.
2. Try on Everything
I can't stress this enough! You have to try on every single item. You could have pieces in your wardrobe that you've had for more than 2 or 3 years, and they may not fit you. The other reason to decide whether you should keep a piece of clothing is: you have think about where and how you will wear the piece of clothing. So, it may fit; but if you can't find a reason to keep this piece of clothing, you should consider giving it away.
3. Re-Organize your Closet
I organize my closet by type of occasion (Casual, Professional and Formal) and my chest of drawers are sorted by types of clothing (Intimates, Pyjamas, Tops, Pants and Sweaters).
4. What to do with the Rejected Clothes
There are many ways that you can give away your clothes. You can donate them to a local charity or an international volunteer group provides clothing, food and habitat services to men, women and children in third world countries. You can also give your clothes to a consignment store. Be aware: When it comes to consignment stores, they like the pieces of clothing provided to be clean and free of any stains.
These are my tips on how to clean out your wardrobe! I hope you liked this post!
