London & Paris - Day 6: A free day in Paris

London & Paris
Day 6: A free day in Paris
The day began with breakfast in the hotel dining hall with crêpes and Nutella. After, everyone met in the parking lot to get details about the day. We were going to have city drop offs, and later that afternoon, we will all meet at Place de la Concorde and head to Versailles. I chose to get dropped off at Notre Dame. When I got to the beautiful cathedral, I was overwhelmed at how long the line was to get inside. So, instead, I decided to take a few pictures and head towards the nearest Métro station. I decided to go to the Champs-Élysées one more time. I window-shopped from H&M to Sephora to Banana Republic, until it was time to head down to the Place de la Concorde.
Getting to Place de la Concorde from the Champs-Élysées is quite a long walk or a short cab ride. I chose to walk because it was such a beautiful day. When I was at Place de la Concorde, I immediately noticed some of my tour mates and joined them. They were looking at a fashion photo shoot that was happening at one of the fountains. The model was in a beautiful, long black evening gown with a plunging neckline. She was posed, resting at the edge of the fountain. A few minutes went by and everyone was there ready to head to Versailles, but our bus was late and had to wait a few more minutes for it to come.
When it finally came, we boarded the bus. The next thing we knew, we were off to Versailles. Versailles is a quaint little town with old French charm, but it is a big tourist attraction. It is where The famous Palace of Versailles is located. Fun fact: The hall of mirrors inside the Palace is where Dior did the photo shoot for their fragrance J'adore Dior with Model / Actress Charlize Theron. Once we got to the Palace, I was blown way at how big and beautiful it was. As soon as I got off the bus, I felt excited to be on such historic grounds. We had a tour of the palace. The beautiful, original paintings and furniture were so well-preserved.

After the tour, we headed toward the gardens at the back of the palace. They were beautiful, symetrical and well-maintained. As we made our way back to the bus, I had such a sense of happiness come over me. I was living my dream of being in France. We headed back in the city, and went to the Cathédral Sacré-Coeur ( The Sacred Heart Cathedral ). It is high up on a hill, and good thing there was a lift to get to the top. When I got to the top, I could see the entire city of Paris, almost to the suburbs. It was so beautiful as the sun was setting. We went inside the cathedral, it was beautiful with the stained glass windows. It was very similar to the church in my hometown (which is also called Sacré Coeur). Later on, we all met up and walked toward to a near restaurant (La Mère Catherine), we were going to have our last supper together as a group. The food and the wine were so good. I had a great salmon dish with a great rosé wine.

After supper, we went outside and waited as Bri figured out how to get to the bus. There were flower salesmen who were very persistent, and kept annoying us. I got so annoyed with one of them, that I actually told him to leave me alone in French. I think I said so lound that I scared him to death ( hahaha!!! ;) just kidding). After all the drama, Bri told us to follow her. We made our way back to the bus, and headed for the hotel. At the hotel, I laid my clothes out for the next day, and packed the rest of my things.

Well, that is end of Day 6. I'm sorry this post is coming late, I promise to be on time on Thursday. Hope you liked reading this post. My next post will be about Day 7: Saying ''Au Revoir'' on Thursay.
