London & Paris - Day 5: Discovering Paris

London & Paris
Day 5: Discovering Paris

On the morning of Day 5, I woke up, got ready, and went downstairs for a traditional French breakfast. It included Crêpes, Croissants and my favorite morning spread: Nutella! After breakfast, we went down to the parking lot and waited for everyone. We headed toward the Eiffel Tower to take picture and a group photo. We were so many of us, we didn't realize it until after we took the picture. After, we had the option of doing a city drop off anywhere; so I went to the Arc de Triomphe. A lot of people wanted to go there so it was our first stop. I stayed with a couple of friends I had become close with. We took pictures in front of the Arc de Triomphe. After that, we headed toward an underground tunnel to get to the Arc. We got in line for our tickets, and headed up where we had to wait in another line to get inside. It wasn't long before we were climbing the steep stairs of the Arc to get to the top. The view from the top was quite something, you could see almost everything the city of Paris had to offer.

Later on, after our tour of the Arc, we headed down the Champs-Élysées to find a restaurant to eat. We found ourselves at a McDonald's McCafé. It turns out that Ladurée (a pastry store famous for its Macarons) delivers fresh Macarons everyday to that McCafé. I bought a box of 12 Macarons and split it between the four of us (Beth, Courtney, Jorrit and me). They were divine! After our snack, we headed down and did some window shopping. Jorrit had ditched us for the Latin Quarter, so the girls and I went shopping. I realized I hadn't brought any shoes for our fancy dinner that night, so I bought a beautiful pair of light pink pumps. Later, we headed to the Hotel so that we could get ready.

Later that evening, I was waiting down in the lobby of the park lot. I wore a little black dress with my pumps and a small black silk clutch. Our fancy dinner, that night, was at the Moulin Rouge. The food and wine was fabulous, and so was the entertainment!! By the end of the night, I was out of energy, so I headed back to the hotel with other people from the group.

That day was long and fun. The next day was a bit more relaxing but also long. You will know about Day 6 next week. Until then, I hope you enjoyed reading Day 5.
