Hi! My name is Martine. This is my first blog entry. This entry is about what I learned on how to stay safe while on my trip to London and Paris. Hope you like it!!
Imagine you have booked your first trip abroad (How Exciting!); and then you are thinking 'How am I going to be safe in this country if there are pickpockets? Will I be approached by street vendor? How do I avoid being scammed? I have the answer to all those questions.
Pickpockets
Here are a few tips that will help you stay safe from pickpockets.
Street vendors
Street vendors are very persistent, they will ask you if you want what their selling. Simply, you can just say ''No!''; but sometimes they don't know when to stop and will keep going. There are some places in the world that they are known to be scams. What they might be selling, might not be 'real', like if you are approached by a vendor and he seems be selling 'real' Dior handbags. You have to say ''No!'' It is illegal in lots of the countries to sell and to buy counterfeit luxury. All that I am trying to say is that you have to stay away from street vendors, no matter what price they offer.
Scammers
Scammers are people who roam the streets and scam people into giving them money. The scam will start like ''Do you speak English?'' and they will ask you all sorts of questions. Some of them just get right to the point and ask you for money. When you get into these situations, you have to be harsh and to the point and say ''No!'' to what ever they ask you. Sometimes, they don't approach you, the are kneeled on the sidewalk holding a cup.
To summarize, to keep safe must say ''No!'' when you are approached, wear a money belt to avoid being pickpocketed, and Always be with a travel buddy or your tour group.
Hope you enjoyed reading my first blog post. I will be posting a new Post sometime next week.
