Exploring Eastern Ontario
Living in Eastern Ontario is quite amazing, but to the people who have never been in Eastern Ontario have never seen such beautiful sceneries and such fun activities. I will be talking about the 2 most popular tourist destinations in Eastern Ontario: Ottawa ( Canada's capital ), and Prince Edward County.
Ottawa
As Canada's capital, there are many things to see and do. Here are some suggestions for events and festivals: BluesFest, Folk music festival, July 1st Canada Day, and Fashion Week. BluesFest is from the 3rd to the 13th of July in LeBreton Flats which is a short walk from Parliament Hill. The line up of artists this year consists of: Lady Gaga, Blake Shelton, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Tegan and Sara, and other artists. The Folk music festival is set at Hog's Back Park from Sept. 10th to the 14th. The line up this year consists of some artists like Foster the People, J. Cole, Serena Ryder, and other artists. Canada Day in the Capital is an event to never forget. It is always at Parliament Hill on July 1st. There is a huge variety of food stands, and amazing entertainment like these great Canadian artists: Carly Rae Jepsen, Terri Clark, and Metric. Also, you will see the biggest firework show at the end of the night. Ottawa Fashion Week is situated 5 to 10 minutes outside of Ottawa in Gatineau at the Hilton Lac-Lemay Hotel. The next lines are to be shown from Feb. 6th to the 8th for the Fall/Winter lines of 2014/2015. The line up for the designers is a wide range of local and international designers.
Prince Edward County
Prince Edward County is renowned in Ontario as one the most prominent wine regions in Canada. This region is also known to have amazing beaches like at the Sandbanks National Park's Outlet Beach which is beside Lake Ontario. P.E.C's most popular town is Picton which has a great variety of restaurants and antique stores.
So, now that I have talked about all I know and have learned. I have gotten my sources for the Events in Ottawa at www.ottawatourism.ca in '' What To Do'' under Festivals and Events; and for the information on Prince Edward County, I went to www.ontarioparks.com/parks/sandbanks for Sandbanks National Park and www.experiencepicton.com for the information on Picton. If you like my blog share with your friends and family. Hope you liked it!
