New Year... New Me (Life Update 2019-2020)

Happy 2020 Everyone!!

Summary of 2019
I know it's February and New year was last month, but it's been a couple of busy months.
I haven't written blog posts since maybe 2018, but Life Happens.

We were quite busy in 2019. We planned and attended our wedding reception. We went on a honeymoon to Quebec City. I decided to go in a new career direction and I applied to college. I got Accepted at Algonquin College in the Law Clerk Program for the Winter 2020 Courses. I finished off the year by quitting my job, spending time with my family and getting ready for school.
We had a very busy 2019.

Planning the Wedding Reception
In the start of the year 2019, my Husband and I sat down and had a discussion about celebrating our Marriage. Since we had gotten married the year before, we didn't really have a Wedding reception. So, an idea popped into my head. I said: "What if we have a Marriage Celebration Reception close to our 1st Wedding Anniversary?", and my Husband replied "Sounds Great!"

Soon enough, we were planning away. We had set and budget, picked a venue, and met with our wedding planner. We figured out the theme, attire and ordered our invitations.
I didn't know how much we would have to do until I made a list, and it was quite a lot. With the help of my Husband, Mother, Father, Sister, Best Friends, and the rest of our Family, we pulled off a Great Wedding!!
The theme was Provencal Rustic (White with Lavender tones and Rustic Decorations)
My Dress was a Beautiful find from David's Bridal, Jewelry from my Mother, and Makeup by Me.
My Husband's Suit was from a Men's suit shop called Kastner's.
Our flower arrangements were from Roy's Florist. We went for White and Dusty Pink Roses with Baby's Breath and Lavender Sprigs.
Music was provided by my Best Friend's cousin who is a DJ.
Our Wedding Song is "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" by Elvis Presley, Covered by Kina Grannis.

Career and School
One day, I woke up and decided I didn't want to be a waitress for the rest of my life. I was sick of waking up and thinking "Oh F***! I have to work today!". I thought " You know, I deserve to wake up and be excited for a day of work. Work where I don't have to serve people drinks, worry about bullshit with other co workers, and long hours with lousy pay and tips. Also, an unstable schedule every week, which made it hard to plan anything."

Having a career as a Law Clerk means that my job options will be quite diverse. I will be able to find employment in the Private and Public Areas of Law. Private Areas of Law include working in Private Law Firms. They would mostly handle Family Law, Contract Law, Wills and Estates, and much more. However, Public Areas of Law include working with either the Provincial or Federal Government (Department of Justice), and also the Courts and Tribunals of both branches. They would handle Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Immigration and Refugee Law, and Tax Law. I am mostly interested in the Public sector, because once you get in, the opportunities for advancement are incredible. My Ultimate goal is to land a job with the Federal Government, in the Department of Justice. It sounds fascinating, and it Excites Me!!

2020 is starting out super great!
I currently live in Ottawa for School (Algonquin College), and come to visit home to Cornwall on the weekend (like I am right now).
I am having an Amazing time learning and sharing the experience with my classmates. I know that Ultimately, I am doing this because I want a better Career and Future (and not be waitress all my life).

That's my little Life Update for you guys!!
I will update you guys soon.
Have a great long weekend!!

Whenever I think about all the things I would Love to do; I realize that it seems quite difficult to achieve all of them, but it is NOT Impossible. Sometimes you might think that bucket lists are for people who expect to leave this world soon. They are not for that purpose. A Bucket List is a list of things that you would Love to do during your time on this Earth. It is not morbid or depressing. It is a list that is full of adventure and new experiences; inspired by life and made by your brain. Here is My Bucket List! I would Love to: 1. Go on an African Safari 2. Go Skydiving in Dubai, UAE 3. Go to Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany 4. Go Skiing in the French and Swiss Alps 5. Go Visit Machu Pichu in Peru 6. My Summer Favorites 2014

My Summer Favorites 2014                 In this blog post, I will be talking about my favorite things from this summer. From great books to good eats and much more. I will talk about some of my favorite books, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), food, and beauty items.   Books J'adore New York! by: Isabelle Laflèche . This book is an amazing mix of fashion, crime and love. I've read more than few times over the last few years. The character for Catherine is an amazing portrayal of a French woman's journey in America as a corporate lawyer. The story is really inspiring, showing that there are a lot of hard decisions to make in life, work and especially in love. It's the perfect book for women who have love of fashion and crime/law. J'adore Paris! by: Isabelle Laflèche . This book is the sequel to J'adore New York. In this book, Catherine returns to Paris with a new love and a new career...
